SEO Trends for 2015

The web quest search is on. What is changing in SEO for 2015?

What is SEO?

SEO is search engine optimization - in other words, it's how your website gets found when clients are searching for it on the internet. As always, things are changing and you have to keep up with them. Based on my research the following things will become more and more important.

Google will be showing more information on the search page itself.

  • What does Google say on their search page about you?
  • What is your page indexed with?
  • What is your page title?
This information is critical. It may be all the client sees.

Result search criteria will be changing to allow smaller sites to show up as well as large sites.
    • As a result, the number of back links will be less important.
    • Where does your website show up in relation to your competitors?

Do you Google yourself? If not, you should.

Links from social sites and page load speed are increasing in importance.

    • How active and engaged is your social media?
    • Your social media presence, or lack thereof, will be playing a part in determining your page ranking.

    Mobile is very important.

    • The number of potential customers accessing your information on mobile devices increases every day.
    • How does your site look on those devices?

Content that targets your specific SEO goals, is unique, and provides value to searchers will be the best investment. Video content is valuable.

    • Do you have an active youtube channel?

Try it: Google yourself. How many times do you post on your social sites? How often do you engage your followers? What is your reach? All important things to work on for 2015.
